Badia – Idyllic mountain village in South Tyrol

Alta Badia offers enough space for various sport and cultural activities, local traditions and many unforgettable adventures in the middle of the Dolomites.

Badia, pearl of the Dolomites, stands at the feet of Sas dla Crusc/Sasso di Santa Croce, where the sanctuary of La Crusc lies. It is a traditional destination for pilgrims from all the villages in Val Badia. The beautiful Armentara meadows lie at the foot of the Sas dla Crusc and are a marvellous place to visit with their blossoming in spring or, when the larch trees turn golden, in autumn. In winter, the La Crusc chairlift allows you to ski in these enchanted places or enjoying the sun while walking on the white snows of Alta Badia.

The village of Badia is surrounded by two large Nature Parks: the Nature Park of Fanes-Sennes-Braies and the Nature Park of Puez-Odle. Both parks are part of the Unesco World Natural Heritage Site. For lovers of nature, fauna, flora and geology, this is a paradise just waiting to be discovered.

Not far from Garni Flurida in Badia are the other villages that are part of the Alta Badia holiday region:

  • La Val, a well-preserved village, which is a much loved destination for hikers.
  • La Villa, famous for the World Cup skiing competition on the mythical “Gran Risa”.
  • San Cassiano, a village situated on the slopes of “La Varella”, which offers many opportunities for sports, such as rock climbing, cross-country skiing or sledging.
  • Corvara, the most touristically developed and most well-known of the villages. The town where the “Maratona dles Dolomites”, cycling event, crosses the finishing line.
  • Colfosco, famous for its delightful little church, dedicated to San Vigilio.
